{"id":1957,"date":"2025-01-31T17:28:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T17:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/szmz.hu\/teaching\/?page_id=1957"},"modified":"2025-02-25T18:53:33","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T18:53:33","slug":"stencil","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/szmz.hu\/teaching\/stencil\/","title":{"rendered":"3d printed Stencil"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>First create a vector format stencil file either type of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>vector stencils (downloadable in .svg format): <br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stencilcreator.org\/\">https:\/\/www.stencilcreator.org\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>halftone vector stencils (downloadable in .svg format):<br><a href=\"https:\/\/halftone.xoihazard.com\/\">https:\/\/halftone.xoihazard.com\/<\/a><br>(or: <a href=\"https:\/\/vectorizer.oscaralexander.com\/\">https:\/\/vectorizer.oscaralexander.com\/<\/a>) <br>tips:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the grid should be hexagonal, size not smaller than 18, radius 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>shape should be triangular or square, scale &gt;~0.77, strength 0.5-0.65<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>but most importantly:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> the raster elements should always have thick borders between each other<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the smalest triangular\/square elements should be bigger than 1mm in diameter (the bigger is the safer)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Next create a 3d model for 3d printing in Blender or any 3d modeling program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>create a flat sheet with 0.4-1mm thickness (z dimension), depending the elasticity you need<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>import the svg and finetune it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>select all the curves, convert to mesh, then join them to one mesh<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in edit mode extrude the mesh in z, thicker than your sheet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>place the mesh within the body of the sheet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>add a BOOLEAN DIFFERENCE modifier to the sheet with the curves-mesh, it should perforate the flat sheet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly import the model to your slicer software and print it. Note that <strong><em>first layer speed<\/em><\/strong> should bee slow, especially when there are fine details present in the stencil. Some recommendations in print settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>use a 150% thick first layer.
